With Heartfelt Sympathy...

Love this stamp set from Unity. Do not love making sympathy cards. Such a tough card topic, for me anyway.

I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers on the flowers. I only have a few of his markers (I know!), but after I finished this, I knew I had to get all 61 "flavours"! Haha! So, Black Friday, late at night, I put them in my cart, and away we go! They should arrive any day now.

I stamped the flowers again, and coloured 3 of them again; cut them out; popped them up.

Added the 2 small wooden hearts; coloured them with a red Distress Marker.

  Closeup:
I used coloured pencils for the books, and Copic Cool Shadow for the shadow.

Monday is done! Lots to do, no energy! Have a fabulous week, and thanks for stopping by!

Let Heaven and Nature Sing

We had a really nice visit with Mike's aunt Dorothy today. She is 92 years old, still lives in her house, by herself! I gave her this Christmas card. She always enjoys receiving my homemade cards! She always wants details on how I made it. My biggest fan!

My favourite angel stamp is from the TH/Stampers Anonymous set called, "Joyful Song". It's an older set. The sentiment stamp is an older stamp as well, from Stampabilities.

I took the photo on an angle because the black and silver paper is foil and I was getting a lot of glare.

The angel was stamped on paper and then I stamped her again, coloured her with pencils, cut her out, and popped her up. I stamped her wings again, cut them out and popped them up. I added some Stickles Frosted Lace to give her wings some texture "crunch". Cascaded Stickles from her hand to the sentiments.

This sentiment is also from the "Joyful Song" stamp set by TH/Stampers.

The back
Very nice day visiting Dorothy and other relatives. We don't do it enough.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're getting all your Christmas cards made and gifts bought!

Get Kraken!?

A steampunk kraken, or very large octopus! The co-worker I made this for, informed me that a very large octopus, rumoured to swallow ships, was called a "kraken". Who knew? Here is a link to Wikiwand, if you want to read more about this legendary sea monster: Kraken

Used G45 Voyage Beneath the Sea paper collection. You can't tell by the photo, but I cut her top half out and popped her up.

TH/Sizzix gears and tattered doily dies. Some Dew Drops and tinted cheese cloth.

More photos:

Inside. Sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! set.

Back.

Gorgeous papers! Starting some Christmas cards for a swap I'm in. Heading out to a day crop this coming Saturday.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are getting all your Christmas cards done!

Trick or Treaters

Love this TH/Sizzix die set! It was out a few years back in a longer die; a few more trick or treaters, I believe, and I regret not buying then, as it was eventually discontinued. So glad they brought it back in this size.

Love the hangers for display. The moon is from a Crafty Secret set. Word and quote from TH Halloween set.

Zombie Casanova

Haha! Love this guy! Great fun putting this together! I made this for Mike, as he is "my favourite monster".

Used one of the giant playing cards from the deck I bought at my local thrift shop.

Used various Distress Oxides for the background, TH stencil, and chain stickers. The edge punch is Martha Stewart. Added some Distress Pewter Stickles on top. And of course, some drywall tape!

I stamped him on paper and coloured him with pencils and Gamsol. Cut him out and popped it on to the card. Used a splatter stamp for the blood. I like Distress Ink, Aged Mahogany for blood. Added some deep red highlights with glitter pen ands tickles.

The "fav monster" sentiment and "happy halloween"is from TH sticker sets. The sentiment and hearts are also from the Stampers Anonymous, Zombie Casanova set by Brett Weldele.

Attached this card to a TH Idea-ology Display Hanger.

More closeups:

Gives you an idea how large the playing card is!

Getting ready for a weekend crop here in the city. I'm still going to work on some Halloween projects. I'm on a roll!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a terrific week!

A Little Birdie Told Me...

A birthday card for Mike's aunt Janette. Love this cat and bird stamp by Laurel Burch/Stampendous!

I used Prima Confections Watercolours on the cat and bird. Cut the image out. Stamped it again on watercolour paper and just coloured the bird and tail; cut them out; popped them up on base image.

The sentiment stamp is from Stamping Bella. Background TH Texture Fade, called Book Cover 1. Used Distress Oxides for background colours. Washi Tape top and bottom. Sequins here and there!

Inside. All sentiment stamps are from various TH collections.

Back. More Washi Tape and leftover piece of front cover.

  Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a terrific week!
